... was originally (and still is) a town or city (now a commune) in the Vaucluse department, in the Provence–Alpes–Côte d'Azur region of Southeastern France. It's approximately 30 kilometres (20 miles) north of Avignon, and 100 kilometres (60 miles) north-north-west of Marseille. The town gave its name to a county, and thus to the principality.
The population of the commune of Orange was 28,454 in 2020.
